In 1981 was hired as Chaplain for Metro Dade Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, In 1984 was promoted Religious coordinator. In 1999 was appointed by the Department, Commander of the newly formed Chaplaincy Services Bureau. Responsibilities include: overseeing county and volunteer staff, public speaking, preaching, conducting Bible studies, officiating at marriages, funerals, Family and Marriage counseling, meeting spiritual needs

of over 6,500 inmates, providing volunteers to meet program needs, counseling of staff and volunteer counselors of approximately 700 representing over 120 religious institutions in Dade County, inmates both adult and juvenile, families of inmates, correctional officers and co-workers. Since coming on board, have initiated with resounding success expansion and enhancement of services provided, growth has required additional staff to be hired, more inmates served, and an increase to 7 operating jail facilities.

Executive Director, Founder: South Florida Jail Ministries, Inc. Responsible for the Ministry and supervises the different programs through the directors in charge of each area of the ministry. Founded SFJM in 1983, developed the program to the point that it won the National Association of Counties Award, in 1987 as the best community program in the nation.
